FLOOD RISK ASSESSMENTS
All forms of flooding and their impact on the natural and built environment are material planning considerations. SMA has successfully completed numerous Flood Risk Assessments for residential, commercial and leisure developments on previously developed and greenfield sites in accordance with the requirements of PPS25. These FRAs take account of the potential impacts of climate change and have included hydrological and hydraulic modelling.

SUSTAINABLE DRAINAGE SOLUTIONS
SMA takes a holistic approach to providing drainage strategies and has successfully designed and implemented many innovative sustainable drainage solutions that manage and control surface water runoff from development sites in a sustainable manner to mimic natural greenfield runoffs. Typical solutions include swales, infiltration trenches, pervious surfaces and detention, infiltration and retention basins. These solutions all take account of potential climate change impacts, include pollution control measures and have been successfully integrated into development masterplans.

ACOUSTIC AND VIBRATION ASSESSMENTS
Air quality, noise and vibration assessments are often required to accompany and support planning applications. We have extensive experience of assessing the environmental impact of residential and commercial developments and devising appropriate mitigation strategies and solutions.
