Walking and Cycling

Walking and cycling are at the heart of Government transport policy. The Government’s White Paper, ‘Creating Growth, Cutting Carbon: Making Sustainable Local Transport Happen’, published in January 2011, sets out the Government’s vision for a sustainable local transport system that supports the economy and reduces carbon emissions. SMA recognises the importance that active travel can have towards influencing travel patterns and personal health and well-being.
