Martin Ohrland, Associate Director at SMA and Travel Plan Coordinator of the Southern Leighton Buzzard Exemplar Travel Plan, reports encouraging findings from the latest annual monitoring survey. Modal shift for 2012 was 24.2% over 12 hours (up from 17.5% in 2011). The number of residential occupations increased by 13% during the year and the Dash Direct bus service experienced a 68% increase in patronage. The bus service continues to thrive and is currently carrying around 2,000 passengers per week.
