Exemplar Transport Scheme – Commendation

(June 2012). Stuart Atkinson, Martin Ohrland and Nicola Clay of SMA attended the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation’s annual awards ceremony held on 14th June at Gibsons Hall in London. SMA, together with partners Arnold White Estates Ltd, Central Bedfordshire Council, Arriva, Leighton Linslade Town Council and Friends of the Earth, were shortlisted under the Effective Partnerships Award for their work on the South Leighton Buzzard Exemplar Transport Scheme. The partners were delighted to be awarded a commendation at the event, which was attended by guests of honour HRH The Princess Royal and Lord Digby Jones.

Windfarm in Mid Wales

(June 2012). SMA has been commissioned by RWE Npower Renewables Ltd to act on its behalf and present transportation evidence at a Section 36 (Electricity Act) Planning Inquiry in relation to its proposal to develop a wind farm of 50 turbines in Powys, Mid Wales.

This scheme is located in an area of Strategic Search for On-shore Wind Energy Generation. It is one of a number of proposals coming before the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change.
