SMA going strong 30 years on!
As we celebrate our 30th year in business, we are, once again, pleased to announce that SMA has ranked 33rd and 40th respectively in the ‘Roads’ and ‘Transport Planning’ categories by the CIHT in their latest Transport Professional Journal. Our efforts over the past 12 months have seen us move up in a number of categories that we feature in, and we look forward to being able to improve on our performance over the next year.
Planning Consent at Appeal
Planning consent has been granted at Appeal for a residential site, known as Treetops Kennels, Old Portsmouth Road, just south of Guildford. The development will consist of 39 residential dwellings with associated vehicular access, public open space, ancillary works and associated infrastructure. An existing outbuilding will also be demolished, with a number of improvements to an existing Listed Building also planned.

Winchester Road, Wickham
Winchester City Council Planning Committee has recently approved a residential scheme for 120 dwellings on land north east of Winchester Road, Wickham on behalf of Bewley Homes Plc.
Stuart Michael Associates (SMA) provided highways support to Bewley Homes throughout the planning process. Several access options were presented to Hampshire County Council and a ghost island right turn lane on Winchester Road was agreed. A Transport Assessment and Travel Plan was also prepared in support of the application.
New recruits join the Transportation Team
SMA are delighted to welcome two new graduates to the business, both of which will provide excellent support to the transportation group. Ben and Alice are both looking forward to getting stuck in to some exciting existing commissions and new projects we have on the horizon.
