Director and Chairman of Stuart Michael Associates Limited, Stuart established the company in 1988. Stuart is responsible for the direction and management of the company’s transportation and environmental groups, Stuart has over 30 years’ experience in transportation and highways, major infrastructure evaluation and planning, environmental assessment and civil engineering design (highways, bridges, culverts and retaining structures).
Stuart advises many of the major housebuilding companies, food retail and renewable energy sectors on site appraisals, development planning and scheme design. Similarly he has acted variously for the Department for Transport, several NHS Trusts, Development Corporations, County Councils, Unitary Authorities and District Councils on transport and infrastructure related schemes.
Stuart is a Chartered Engineer, a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE), the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) and the Association for Project Management (APM). Currently Stuart is an elected National Council member for the CIHT having previously been Chair of the Institution’s Thames and Chilterns branch. He also advises the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce (West Berkshire Council) on transport and planning issues.
