Your development is future-ready—with plenty of electric vehicle (EV) charging points to help you travel greener and cleaner. With the ban on new petrol and diesel cars coming in 2030, now is the perfect time to plug into the future of driving.

Thinking of making the switch? The government is currently offering up to £2,500 off eligible low-emission vehicles—built right into the dealer’s price. Check out the full list of qualifying vehicles on the official government website.

And it’s not just here—EV charging points are popping up all over the UK. Use Zap Map to find a charger near your destination and hit the road with confidence.

Car Sharing

One way of reducing the costs of travelling by car is to ‘car share’ or ‘liftshare’. As well as saving you the money you will also help the environment by reducing your carbon footprint. It’s also a great way to meet new people and make new friends!

Car sharing can be done travelling to work, going shopping, on the school run – in fact on any journey you make!

Why not try it out, to search for other people travelling on similar routes to you? There are  public car share databases which enable you to search for journey matches and these are all FREE to use:

Travel Plan

As part of your new community, a Travel Plan has been requested by East Sussex County Council. So, what is a Travel Plan you may ask?

A Travel Plan is a document that identifies sustainable travel methods available to residents, such as yourself, as alternatives to travelling by car. The Travel Plan also includes travel targets which have been agreed with the council.

The main targets are simple:

  • To reduce the number of single occupancy vehicle trips from the development and increase sustainable journeys.
  • To promote sustainable travel, making it simpler and more appealing.

These aims will be tracked over a 5-year period, during which you may see people conducting travel surveys. By completing these travel surveys, you may opt in for a chance to win a Sustainable Travel Voucher worth £50, redeemable against a Decathlon e-gift card, a National Railcard, or a Stagecoach bus pass.

Residential Travel Pack

As part of your new community, a Residential Travel Pack has been created. This Pack highlights local sustainable transport opportunities and discusses the benefits of greener, smarter, travel. Each household will receive a Pack, however, a digital copy can be found below.
